    Hi,
[IMG]How are silkies as pets? I have been researching them. How often do they lay eggs? What is their behavior usually?[IMG]

    Thanks [IMG]

I can't speak to egg laying because my silkies are around 10 months and haven't started laying but they have been amazing pets. My 5 year old loves to carry them around and they will literally go to sleep in his arms while he cradles them. When I go in the coop they rub up against my legs (like a cat) and really love to get my attention. They also make the cutest noises. My kids really love having them. Also, they get along well with my other chickens (RIR, EE, Buff Orp, Wyandotte).

Ok thanks for the advice! We have Buff Orpingtons but I don't want to try putting a silky in with them because my Buff Orpingtons don't like any new chickens.[IMG]

    Thanks again!
