I have a flock of ten turkeys that I free range, most of the time without any problems. Yesterday, however they were determined to roost on my deck railings. I was equally determined that they would not and chased them off with a broom every time a turkey foot touched my deck. Finally one of the silly birds flew straight up in the air and landed in the middle of the swimming pool. I was heading to the side to go get him when I realized he was floating on the water and paddeling like a duck. He swam to the side and hopped out, turned to me and gave a lot of backtalk and headed off to find other mischief to get into. What can you do but laugh at them.
