... was kinda funny... i spent the a good part of the day yesterday cleaning the inside of the pea pen -- the outside's a bit muddy right now with the thawing and rain -
but the birds usually wander in and out any way, but EVERY last one of them stayed inside while i was cleaning (the INSPECTORS) .. my ibbs male is sometimes my best friend and sometimes he wants nothing more than to attack me .. yesterday was somewhere in between ...the shovel and scraper were his victims of choice yesterday although he was pecking at my head while i was hunched over cleaning under the perches (almost like he was trying to decrown me) .. anyway, here's a not so quick vid from yesterday...

I love the lights you have set up for them. So you have 40 peafowl? Sometimes I wish I had 40 of them!

Mine are very nosey too. When I dig a hole in their pen to plant something or like recently when we were digging a hole to put a new perch in, they get so close you are worried they will get hit with the shovel. They will jump in the hole, push all the dirt back into the hole, etc. They are really silly!

When Peep was younger we took him outside and he helped us plant a fruit tree. We had to dig a really big hole for it and he was having fun playing in the dirt. Peas are good company when you dig a hole. [IMG]

Aww what a cute video. I love how your pen has so many different areas/levels for them to hang out in.

My hand raised ones are the same way when I clean. The others just get as far away as they can. Today when I was raking Schmendrick was following the rake everywhere and pecking at it the whole time. He even displayed to it to let it know that he was the boss [IMG]. Slowed things down some but it was very cute. I wish I had my camera. He also tries to eat anything I touch so if I want to pick up trash or feathers I have to grab them quick before he tries to snatch them to eat. He even saw me pulling my hair back when he was young and now tries to eat it when it is in his reach. And since it is waist length I have to remember to tie it up when I go in there now [IMG].

I feel like you have told us the story behind the name before, but could you explain it again? That sounds like a dangerous peacock...

lol --- he hatched as a onesie so when i was able to find the time, i gave him as much attention as i could... one of the first times i had him out i was laying on the carpet letting him do curiosity things etc. ... as i'm talking to him, he walked right up to my face and was (or so i thought) looking at his reflection.... me not being the swiftest didn't really think twice as we were conversing...long story short, he pecked my pupil ..and yes it hurt[IMG] ... hence the name..... eyegore .....my buddy/bully pea...
