Silver laced orpington?

Discussion in 'What Breed Or Gender is This?' started by MichelleSawicki, Mar 13, 2017.

  1. Bought silver laced orpington hatching eggs on ebay. Weren't cheap. 1 hatched but it is mostly black and has feathered feet? Doesn't look like the silver laced orpington chick pics I am seeing online. Any thoughts on what this chick might be?[IMG]

Well it definitely isn't an Orpington, could be a Cochin. You will have to wait until it feathers out to see for sure.

    Out to pasture
Doesn't appear to have a cochin comb forming either

Not an Orpington. Doesn't look like a Cochin, either, since its comb doesn't appear to be a single comb. Probably a mix.

I'd be sending pic to the seller and asking what's up. Absolutely not what you purchased.

  6. Turned out to be a dark brahma! They mixed up the eggs. Sent me more orpington eggs.

It's not a pure Dark Brahma if it is. Totally wrong color and pattern for a Dark Brahma chick.
