I thought she was a pullet, but someone told me today that she is in fact, a he.
17 weeks olf
can you post a full body picture?
Based on the rounded feathers of the neck, I think this is a pullet. The cockerel would have very pointed hackle (neck) feathers that would be pretty prominent at this age.
She loves my phone but hates having her photograph taken.
Her neck feathers.
This looks like a pullet to me, just with a prominent comb. Sometimes you just have a hen with a comb that appears to be larger than normal. But I don't see any male characteristics on this bird, and at 17 weeks old you would see male feathering patterns. The males of this breed are also not laced on the neck (I'll put a Google picture below) which you would also see by now. This should put your mind at some ease that you indeed have a pullet.
Sorry, but I see a rooster.
I am not sure. But my feelings says pullet. There whould be more red around the eye if it is male. I have one Wyandotte showing some quite pointy feathers, and at the moment she sits on some eggs. Dont give up hope and tell us whoes right.
I'm guessing pullet, you'll probably have to wait for the egg or crow to be 100%.
