Can anyone tell me if one is a rooster. I have 4 SLW and they seem to be identical except that one of them has a comb that stands up, the other three have combs closer to their heads that appear to be beady. I am very new to chickens and so not sure of the vocabulary concerning chickens.

Wyandotte have rose combs. They can sport a single comb but that is rare. Sports are genetic throwbacks and should not be bred forward. Well sometimes they are like in the case of White Rocks being from white sports in Barred Rock lines that were bred forward to create another variety of Rock.

Forgot to answer your question. I think it's a pullet.

    That's a pullet.
As Egghead said, she has what's called a straight comb. Your other birds have a rose comb, which is the "correct" comb for the breed. The straight combs are recessive and occasionally they pop up in Wyandottes, even from very good breeders in my understanding. Nothing to do with gender or anything else, just makes her different than the other ladies [IMG]
