Silver Leghorn Pullet laid thin shelled egg today

    She just started laying about two weeks ago. She has been laying small eggs but the shells were hard. Today she laid an egg that was double the size. I thought it might be a double yolk but it wasn't. It was a very thin odd shaped egg. Do you think it's just because it was so much bigger than her other eggs so far?

    New layers often lay funky looking eggs while they get their reproductive systems sorted. You may find the egg in question to contain 2 or more yolks instead of 1.
