I have been looking at pictures of Silver Pheasants and have noticed that they have pinkish legs... My Year Old pair both have Crimson Red legs, and I think it looks really cool!!

I was wondering if they fade as the bird ages, or if they arent usually that bright?

I like the bright legs, because I think it makes them look more exotic.

Hello,

As far as the "standard" goes, it should be red. Not DARK red or light like Pink but it should be bright redish/dark pink blend. Anything TOO DARK or TOO LIGHT has a chance of being crossed, even 1 once or twice along the line, but then again, you can't just base everything off leg color either...

In regards to aging, it COULD be a possibility but a friend of mine had his for 6-7 years + and it still looks quite like any 2 year old bird...

: )

ETA: MY PICTURE IS TINY. JUST A MINUTE

This is the only picture I got that you could see the legs, because the grass is too tall, but It should show it okay.

(They look brighter with the sunlight on them, but I believe this was later.)

Sorry for the wait!!

I only got a good picture of the females legs, because the grass was too tall where the male was, but Ill try again maybe tomorrow.
