Celebrate the first eggs you are getting post-molt or from new chickens with me! This is from my new Welsummer, her first egg. Look at that incredible BLOOM! I am so proud of my hens. Show me your first eggs!

I didn't photograph my first egg of the year. I simply ate it, that day.

 

[Backyard Divas]

My Hedemora, Diva, laid the first egg of the year around mid January. I didn't take a picture of that one, but my young Olive Egger just started laying and here is hers. It was a nice medium size for a first egg, and a lovely army green ( looks a bit more bronze in the picture than it is).
