We were on week trip and when we returned home we found one of our hens sitting 10 eggs in the corner of the goat hut. Are the eggs OK to eat? They are still warm. One cracked when I collected them, which I will throw away, but the others look fine.

I personally wouldn't try to eat fertilized eggs after they have been set on for 24 hours or more.

Unfertilized, you can always look up the float test and see if you want to try that.

Thank you for the link. I watch all of the videos and now I know when an egg is bad.

Gotta be careful as I have eaten eggs that passed the float test but still tasted "off." So do be careful. I am glad 3chickchicks was able to post a link for you! :)

Did you feel sick afterwards or just the taste was off?

Oh no I didn't get sick from it (and I HAVE gotten sick from store-bought eggs before).

The taste was just funny. It was a pile of eggs I found I think back in 2007.

LOL that sounds funny eh- no I didn't wait until 2013 to eat them. [IMG]
