Hi just to let you all know that we've successfully hatched six croad langshan chicks fertilised by our sadly deceased rooster..... They all seem healthy thus far. Maybe another 2 more go, (fingers crossed!) All very nerve racking but wonderful at the same time....

Welcome to BYC! That's lovely news.

I have a Black Langshan cockerel and pullet -- only hatchery stock, but from Ideal, which is supposed to have birds from the Croad line.

They're such gorgeous birds.
They really are... We lost a chick within a week with a splayed leg, treatable but not by a newbie :) So now we have two beautiful roosters (roosterettes?) and three chicks.... They are now 8 weeks old. Been told that we should wait to 12 weeks to integrate to the flock of 7 hens....Pics of "Bluie" the rooster attacked
