Hello all! I am contemplating getting quail (would love Gambels if I can find them, of Ca Valleys) and am wondering if the 1/2 inch hardware cloth I have would work as the bottom of their pen? Also, I'd love to see pictures of other folks' quail cages/pens and how they made them. Thank you!

I don,t know about gambels , yet [IMG] but 1/2 X 1 " is almost too small for my bobs who knew they would get this big [IMG]

Wow, so pretty much try it and find out eh? You all have totally different policies on the subject. Thank you for the response. Anyone else? I want to see if there starts to be a pattern to the responses, rather than each one being different and contradictory. [IMG][IMG]

Quote:just curious were they always on wire or have they been in an aviary I was thinking about some gambels but my pens are about to get much larger [IMG]

I have been around bobs friends of mine keep that I hunt with. I trust JJ's experience so far it has saved me a lot of headaches really lessened my learning curve quiet a bit.
