Slaughter ages for ducks and geese?

    I currently have five 2 week old Embden goslings and 6 Rouen ducklings (same age). We'll be (hopefully) keeping two ducks and one drake of the Rouens, but husband has no interest in keeping any of the geese.

    What are the right ages for slaughtering these to eat?

    I've heard a few different things when it comes to butchering ducks. I've heard 8 to 12 weeks, and I've heard 13 to 18 weeks. As for myself, I would probably butcher around 13 or 14 weeks.

    I'm not sure about geese, maybe someone else will know.

    I saw somewhere 9 weeks for geese or 12-13, but no later as they no longer are food/meat efficient?
