    Hey guys,
I just got my baby RIRs yesterday and today I noticed they're sleeping very often. Is this normal? I'm new at this so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. Another question I have is should I be keeping their white light (it's the light in the room) on 24/7 along with the red heat lamp or not? Thanks in advance! [IMG]

sleeping often is very common in young chicks. the question is not stupid, it is only natural to be worried when you are a parent!!! the heat lamp should be enough heat, so you dont need the light.

But they don't need any kind of light?

They will need the heat lamp for the first 3 weeks or so and it's fine to leave the room light on if you like. I prefer to turn the overhead light off at night so they can have some night time.

I had heat light on all time but got them used to night and day so no regular light on at night
