This our 9 week old black copper maran, Popcorn. His leg has been like this for about 2 weeks. We've had him in a small crate all by himself so he cant move around too much to rest his leg. He still is the same. Eating and drinking ok, trying to move aroynd like normal and generally acting ok. Any suggestions? We just put him in our homemade sling and splinted his hock a lil today. Any thought?[IMG]

Read Poultry Pedia Podiatry--Google it and scroll down to how to fix and slipped achilles tendon. Some leg probles can result from leg bone deformaties such as varus valgus deformity, and tibial dyschondroplasia (TD.) The hock tendon can become weak and rupture as the chick grows.
