Hi,
I have a chick who has a bit of developmental delaly...
he (oh yeah, It's prollly a roo... of course... ) has a bump of something, hernia? on his belly, but his vent is fine...
the sac that was on the bump dried up , but the bump is there still.. .
he also has curled toes, but they are getting better... but, he 's still curling the middle toe and falls a lot, he is much delayed compared to the other chicks... they are running around and eating...
this guy is still not eating, so I had feed him syringe warm sloppy mash four times a day... then put the rest of the mash in with him, but he has yet to peck and eat any...
suggestions?
he's cute and very friendly now, and he pecks the syringe for another drop...
so he 'gets' eating now...
he's about 5 days old now... Black copper marans

well, I lost the little one overnight...
he was very quiet at the last feeding, and I could tell he wouldn't make it.
I layed him on his fluffy, and he went to sleep and didn't awaken.
poor guy, he tried, but it wasn't enough.
I think whatever was up with his umbilical hernia and leg abnormality syndromes was just bigger....
he had what looked like Cerebral palsy in people...
he went quietly, right after I'd held and loved on him...
his sisters and brothers went to their new owner today too...
