Slugs

Locked up my chickens tonight and there was a ton of slugs all over the place, and looked like they were migrating over toward the coop. Do slugs eat the chicken poop?
Will de help keep them away like salt? Or if i throw a bunch of salt down will the birds eat all of the salt?

I don't know what is attracting the slugs, but you don't want them in the coop. DE might do it. Some people let their chickens eat slugs, but they carry internal parasites you don't want your chickens to get.
