I think its safe to say you don't need to.
But, I don't want to jinx myself.

The hackle feathers are pointed on females but, they would be a lot more pointy down the Back especially at this age, if it was a boy.

Yeah lets hope it is. It has always been mean towards me. Its pecks me if i touch its food. It also is the leader. And jumps on the other chickens.
Edit and it does it to only one bird.
