I will be starting the incubator probably Saturday or Sunday. I am currently out of town, but my oldest son says that we have begun to get some "small eggs". I have 8 Buff Orp hens and my guess is that one of the girls has just begun laying. Can these "smaller than the rest" eggs be incubated or is that simply a waste of time? Thanks...

I don't understand why not. I have had fertile small eggs before.

I say go for it, unless you need the incubator space for something else.

Hatch rate is likely to be lower. They may not even be fertile yet. If you don't care and just want to see what you get then you can try it. If you want to maximize how many hatch you'd be better off waiting at least a couple weeks.
