This morning when I was feeding the girls and collecting the eggs that had been laid, I found the smallest egg I've ever seen on the floor of the coop. In fact, I almost stepped on it. I guess one of the silkies laid it as they are the smallest chickens I have, but they have been laying for a while. It's smaller than the Serama eggs I used to have. It's perfectly formed just tiny.

Regular egg, A Silkie egg, and the Tiny egg

    Tiny egg and quarter

    Tiny egg with ruler

You never know what you will find.

Any of them could have laid it, but it was probably one of the newer layers. Those small eggs are cute, aren't they?

One of mine layed a small egg like that about two months before they started actually laying.

    Awww... so cute!

I might be what they call a "wind egg," with all albumen (white) and no yolk. I just say that because I can't imagine how a yolk would fit in there, haha. Wind eggs are usually much smaller than normal. I haven't had one, yet, though, myself...

I had one when my 2 BSL started laying, but it did have a tiny yoke in it, about the size of a pencil eraser.

Are you sure that you don't have pigeons in there?

Cute egg - let us know if it's a fart egg.

edit: OK, this forum is too cute - I wrote 'f....art' egg and it replace it with 'wind' I do like the family friendly content!

Cute little wind/rooster egg there (just names). Probably doesnt even have a yolk!

Hen's probably thinking, boy that was an easy egg.
  10. Can we see it in a frying pan next to 'regular' egg? It is soooo cool!
