Its normal for them to pluck themselves bald, but not to be smelly.

Has she pooped up the nest?

Do any of the eggs smell bad?

She could be sitting on a rotten egg.

she shouldnt be smelly, but being bald is normal. I would check her eggs, maybe some died and now are rotton.

I dont know what could have went wrong. Unless she got off the nest for a day and the eggs died, then she went back to sit on them and they got rotten.
