Smelly eggs

My pekin duck just started laying and the eggs smell like wet dog :S
Are they supposed to smell like that ?
I've washed them already with soap and they still smell funny .

My chicken eggs have been smelly lately too. I clean the coop out, but it doesn't seem to matter. I think it might be the hay. I hadn't noticed an odor before this summer, so I'm thinking in the colder weather it probably won't be an issue. Anyway, I stopped giving my eggs away except to family members because people might not like the odor. They don't overwhelmingly stink, but if you sniff them, you think - ick. I don't know how many people sniff their eggs, but I do.

I thought it was a duck thing since they muck around in the mud and whatnot I thought thats why they smelled.
And when I tried washing them they got like a slimy coating to them it was weird :S

That's exactly what it's like! Mine was having a problem that day, too. I don't know why. It's a good thing he is so totally adorable!

None of my chicken eggs smell like anything .
It's just the duck eggs that smell weird
