We've been living here for almost a year and had yet to see one snake. We have 35 acres of woods surrounding our house and I couldn't believe that we didn't have any snakes here.

Well I sent our grandson out to collect eggs and he and hubby knock on the back door for me to come here. At first I thought it was a praying mantis because it was so green.

Nope, it was a snake. I ran to get my camera! I snapped a few pics then ran to the computer to see what kind of snake it was. Its a Northern Rough Greensnake. Cute as a bug too!! So after I take a few pictures, hubby and grandson put him back where they found him so he could continue on his way.

    Here he is!

I am soooo happy that you guys didn't feel like you had to kill a harmless grass snake! [IMG]

Unfortunately, here in SC, many feel the only good snake is a dead snake. DH and I do NOT kill snakes unless they are venomous and a direct threat. I usually negotiate with them! [IMG]

Mahonri, I don't think they could survive the heat there. That's why ya'll get all the big, bad dudes.
