I deal with rose combs not pea lol had ameraucanas those where hard to sex for months lol i noticed with my wyandottes black combs at hatch are pullets no black seems to be cockerelstry that on Araucanas.. my one's 10 weeks old and I'm still confused!

They probably do. I think their moms know what sex they are and treat them differently. I couldn’t believe how quickly one of our hens last spring weaned her singleton chick. By 4 weeks, on its own. It turned out to be a cockerel. But that doesn’t prove anything yet. I’ll have to let her raise more this year and see if she treats the girls the same.....

I prefer to hatch more males but my last all 6 are pullets!
Was it the same in other previous hatches? Maybe your breed/hens yield more females? If that was even remotely possible!?
Hatch before it was 3 cockerels and 4 pullets one before that was a cockerel and 2 pullets but all different pens lol my broody this year hatched nothing but 5 males
