My chicks are about 4 weeks old, buff orpingtons. I've had them for only a week. Normally they all are always in a cluster to sleep and eat and whatever. Yesterday, we moved them to a bigger pen, and since then i've noticed one of the chicks separating herself from the others.

Should i be concerned? Is this normal? Is she just a snob? [IMG]

    Please share your advice. Thanks.

It sounds to me like she is just enjoying having more room and is exploring her new home.

She may also be the alpha hen/highest in the pecking order. Our little alpha hen spends most of her time by herself (when she's not busy keeping the rest of the gang in line).

    Hope this is some help!

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. I'll watch her and see if she's the queen o' the coop. I had no idea.
