OK, we need help big time and I knew our northern, more snow experienced friends here on BYC would have some great ideas to help us out.....
Our little town here in N/E Texas that never gets more than an inch or two of snow has been completely dumped on by this storm! The local kids
will have had 2 snow days off in a row which is unheard of! Our local newspaper is having a snowman building contest and I want to create
a snow something-er-other with my son (5yrs old) that'll stop traffic! So please help us! We have zero snowman building experience and
we need serious help! Ideas, tips, thoughts anything y'all can offer will be hugely appreciated!! We have until 5pm central time to build something
and submit pictures to the paper so please take pity on this southerner and toss your ideas our way! Thank you!!!!!!!

Any local heros or sports mascots you could do? We stick pretty much to the three snowball, carrot nose, scarf around the neck snowman variety here I'm afraid. I used to make them on our deck looking in the sliding glass door so DS would see them when he woke up.
I bet a quick google would net you (pun intended) more ideas than you would believe!

OR! Tomorrow is the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics. You could use that as a theme somehow maybe?

Whatever you do, will be remebered by your 7 year old. Get him involved and just go with it....whatever comes out will be his interpratation of a snowman.
guess your not in Whicita falls...lol
Have fun and give the little guy hot cocco breaks

It's Texas...do a snowman holding a bottle of sunblock wearing shades, some swim trunks, and a goofy beach hat in the shade of a beach umbrella with a lawn chair and radio maybe even a picnic basket. Just make sure you have lots of props whatever the theme. Don't stop with the snowman, make a whole scene.

Doesn't a Texas snowman have to have a horse and a hat?

We have snow for almost 5 months out of the year so I really don't play with it anymore. After moving and shoveling this junk, the last thing I do is play with it. I'd like to light it on fire....

My neighbors are easily bored and always make a snow-woman with triple DD's. Uhh..

Note. Do not use skittles unless you want your snowman to look gruesome when they start to melt.....
Have fun with the snow!!!

Do a giant frog or alligator! I had the best frog's legs and alligator tail when I was in Texas! You can even mix food coloring in with a little water or use the powdered food coloring to give your sculpture a realistic look!
