SO-CAL do you sell your eggs from your house? What are the laws, anyone? I have been looking for days, I live in San Bernardino county. Are you having good luck selling your eggs and what prices are you asking? [IMG]

I know people sell them at farmer's market. In my county we have a code that says in my zone I can have up to twelve hens for laying for personal egg use only. If I sell the eggs I'm in violation. You can call your county ordinance office and ask them or check the SB ordinance web page and should be able to find the information.

thanks, I don't call because I'm a bit paranoid that they might start asking questions I have when to the SB site but I can find nothing about it. I talked t breeder who said there use to be a farmers right to sell law that what ever you raised at you home you could sell from your home...looked that up but it is manly that people cant complain that you have cows chickens the alike if they move into your area? I used to sell mine at work when I worked at Camp Pendleton. I would always charge $1.50 a dozen and if you brought your own egg carton, I would give you a quarter off. I also had a frequent buyer program where buying 5 dozen got you a free one.

that's a good way to keep customers!

I sell my eggs at work. $3 a dozen voluntary contribution with some of the proceeds going to a local animal shelter. At least half. Feed is expensive after all. Some people give me as much as $6 a dozen and love the eggs.$3 a dozen is Costco price.
