    Hi All! I'm new to the world of backyard chickens and I'm so glad to have found this forum. I've done a ton of research over the past couple weeks and I'm ready (I think/hope!) to pick up my chicks tomorrow. I look forward to sharing my Indianapolis, backyard chicken journey with you all!

    Glad you could join the flock! How exciting for you to be getting your new chicks tomorrow :D I'm sure you will enjoy this new adventure very much. Chicks are so much and very rewarding too as you watch them grow and develop. Be sure to ask any questions that you have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

    I picked up 1 Golden Buff and 2 Silver Laced Wyandotte's yesterday. Unfortunately, one of the Wyandotte's died within an hour of being placed in the brooder. Poor little thing was half the size of the other birds, wouldn't open her eyes and could barely walk. I think she had a broken leg and was struggling with pasty butt. She died in my hands, but I'm glad she's not suffering anymore. I'm hoping to pick up another one today! Cross your fingers this one is in better health!
