Not sure how old your friends muscovies are but they look like girls.

Here is my male. He's huge! And 2 of his babies.

They do appear to be hens to me as well. I believe the dark one will mottled out more as it ages, starting with the speckling on her head. Personally, I love all muscovy but I am probably biased.
