I occasionally share stories about Nettie's ducks- and have shown him pictures of the duck harnesses...someone had a picture of a Sebbie goose sitting on a Great Dane on a couch- that one was the only picture he has ever shown appreciation for...basically I do whatever I want when it comes to the animals and all the chores associated with them, and he just goes along with it without much input.

I have posted here about the lone duckling. When I came home from work the other night, he was the one who had the baby in his hand until I got home. When I walked in, he handed me the baby duck and said, "okay Im going to bed"...lol..

Well, as I posted- I got two black east indies to put with the lone duckling.
Hubby said to me "I would have rather kept the duckling by itself, so it would grow up to be an indoor pet duck"...

What?

We have three dogs and eight cats indoors. All our ducks are outside. Never has he ever commented about wanting his own indoor duck. Now I feel bad that I took that from him. Great big long-haired rough and tough outdoor hunter. I feel like I stole his duckie.

What he is telling you is that he wants more ducks.

Quick, get him a couple he can raise himself.

That is probably the same reaction I would have if my hubby had said that to me LOL! Don't suppose he would want 3 indoor pet duckies do you? j/k I can't imagine the work involved in that!!

Duck's are pretty messy outdoors, Indoors would be a nightmare, but then some folks don't care about having a clean fresh smelling house. I would caution you, they are really not designed to be kept indoors, JMO.

Aww what a guy!! Since we got ours my father has been going on and on about his pekin he had as a boy and how he would sneak it into his room at night. It blows me away how he talks about them as he is like your hubby, this tough hunter and I would have never guessed...

Nettie has a pretty sweet set-up and her ducks do fabulous. My dogs on the other hand, well...lets just say I understand why some people say, "no dogs in the house"...

Yeah my hubby would love to keep cats inside BUT he doesnt want to feed or clean up after them.He just wants the fun part,so no inside pets unless he takes on the work....But Ducks OMG would make such a mess...Cute yes.....But oh so messy....
