Yesterday my DH brought home some chicks a guy from work gave him. I said 3 - he gave us 5. And one is suspiciously rooster like. There is another white one (I believe a tetra tint) that has a smaller yellow comb - she looks like a mini version of my 10ish week old Tetra Tint. The guy told him they were 3 weeks old, I think. Thanks in advance!

Here is the chick in question (He/She is very friendly.. but I love the look on its face here). The waddle also looks pinkish/red. The flash on this washed out the color, I think.

Also, I have two of these black chicks. They have feathering on their legs and feet... just a little. I can't figure out what they are. They are pretty skiddish.

The black one could be Cuckoo Marans especially if it has feathered legs , The darker it is the more likely to be girl [IMG]

Hmmm, the first one looks to be a rooster, I think you're right. Now the black ones are definitely barred, but barred rocks don't have feathered legs, and then Cuckoo Marans have feathered legs, but their leg color is yellow....Maybe it's a mix.

Cute as the dickins though! Thanks for showing the pics!

1st one looks like a rooster. I would guess hen on the second one.

I think the black chicks are Cuckoo Marans, especially with the leg feathering...

cuckoo marans don't have feathered legs, only some of the marans have leg feathers and the marans aren't one of them.
