it is day 23 and i candled all the eggs left(witch is 14 eggs)today. Most of them looked either unfertile or dead. We threw a bunch away and cracked them open. At least one egg had a chick that started to develop but died. There are still 6 eggs in the incubator but I don’t think they are very alive.

this is my first time ever though so i guess 5 hatching out of 20 eggs is pretty good

I'm sorry. Best thing I can say is try again. Why did you wait do long to candle? I usually candle first around day 5-6

Don't give up. I haven't tried hatching yet, I'm getting ready to soon though. I hope your next batch works out better for you and your chicks.

i did candle a lot actually but i didnt want to throw away any of them

I usually candle at day 10 and day 18 when I set the eggs for lock down. After day 22 I candle any eggs that are left.

im on my second and they all seem to be doing fine

Just keep researching on what works best for temp/humidity and such...keep trying...you'll get it

don't give up. Sometime you get good hatches and others are terrible. It just a learning curve.
