So when it's time for the girls to start laying. . .

    . . . what do the boys eat? We'll keep two, maybe three roosters (if they're gentlemen) b/c we do eventually want chicks, and we want the flock protection. (If everyone remains healthy and everything else goes ok, we'll have 31 girls). Do we feed something like Flock Raiser with oyster shell on the side? Or are the roos ok on layer feed? We'll provide extra oyster shell no matter what they eat so the girls can have what they need. I'm just thinking ahead and got myself all confused.

    i feed mine the layer feed right along with the ladies and they are healthy happy and lovin it.
