We have a dud. She has been laying ONLY soft shelled eggs for weeks now. The other girls are laying normal eggs, so it's not a matter of lack of calcium.

What are some causes of this? Is our only option to cull her? She is about a year old and so sweet, we hate to cull her....but she is messing up the nest box every day. [IMG]

She, as an individual, may need additional calcium and protien... you could try feeding her off on her own a couple times a day with extra calcium added to her food. See what happens. No need to cull if it is something easily fixed.
