looking for software to help manage chicken
What is it you want the software to do? Accounting, tracking offspring/genetics?
Is there an easy program to track genetics and offspring? I'd be interested in something like that for our small flock needs.
"Whiteconfections" BYC member
is developing some software...... Check out his webpage on BYC
This one is a bit expensive, I used to use it for my Parrot
I just started using The Chick Chart which is a program developed by BYC member whiteconfections.
I like it. Its simple enough for me to use and allows me to track egg production, expenses, keep records of all my fowl and has a section for incubation and brooding (I haven't used yet, since I don't have an incubator, yet).
You should be able to do a forum search for 'the chick chart' and you'll find a post he had asking for beta testers.
I did a search for that user name and found his webpage. The Chick Chart is available to purchase for only $8.00... I already put in my order.
Thanks for letting me know about it!
I may have to get that also
Huh, I got the chick chart too but mine does not work. It errors every time I try to put something in , we haven't figured out why yet. I downloaded a free trial of the Chicken Trackin software and it works great and I like it.
It is on sale to BYC members, check out the post in https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=272876,
I ordered it the other day, I got an email back saying that there was a small problem, but it was fixed, and to expect my copy next week.
$5.00 + $0.85 shipping, is pretty cheap for what it appears to be able to do. IMHO
Wow! I thought the $8.00 price was an incredible deal... but he's selling it for even less?!
Thanks for the link!
