I am so happy! I asked 15.00 for each at 6 weeks and the last are leaving saturday! Do poults usually sell so quickly? I've had ads on CL for pullets/eggs for a couple weeks and no where near the amount of inquiries that I got for the poults...how does it go for goslings and ducklings?
Way to go on your sale! In the past when I sold poults and adult turkeys, they were gone, gone, gone. They did not last long. In my area, the next most popular animals are geese then ducks and then chickens. But turkeys are the most sought after bird for some reason.
Must be nice... around here your lucky if you can get $10 for a young adult turkey. And $5 is pushing it for ducks and geese.
The person I got my 3 bronzes from was selling bronze crosses for 4.00 and bronze pures for 4.50 and she had 130+ of them. Its not a great price but I guess it was worth it to her, you can buy Royal Palms around here for 6 bucks for week old poults
Wow...that's a lot of variation! I hope it's like that every year....I would love to sell day olds...someone else around here sells day old BR's for 10.00 and they are gone in a flash she said...sure will help with the feed bill anyway!
Quote:Guess I have to figure out how to incubate turkey eggs then and geese....working on ducks now...chickens? NP! All I really want is to be able to cut my feed bill in half.I don't expect to make a profit.
They sell like hot cakes down here too. When I bought my BS and SB babies they only had 2 left. Said his wife put the add up 3 days earlier and had started with 10 poults.
I sell my poults as day olds and they are gone usually the next day. And I have a waiting list People love turkey's. And mine are $10.00 each, no discounts. I cant keep keets either, they are gone. Sometimes all my chicks will sell quick and other times they live with me a little while.
Quote:I know...I have a half a dozen red pullets, and assorted breed pullets been posted for almost 2 weeks now....no bites yet. I did sell 3 GLW's though. But not 100% they were pullets so may buy 'em back if need be...
