Just to be clear, I understand it is probably too early to tell what sex these dudes are, I have my guesses, but I'm a total noob when it comes to chickens. I'm mostly curious what this chicken (chicken #1) really is because I have a feeling like "azure" isn't actually a recognized breed.
I bought these from a breeder in my area on March 18th, they were already a few days old. And had leg tags which I took off right away because I was certain that I could tell them apart...haha I'm not so sure anymore. But that's all the fun. They were not sexed. Out of the 9, 4 of them had tags and were "azure" mix. Which I'm guessing are an EE, or OE rather. Possible adults were RIR, BR, and what he called "azure". I have 4 red colored, 2 black with red starting to show, 2 BR looking, and 1 that is lighter and has the cutest little tail.
So here is chicken #1 (this is the "lighter one") no idea what he is. But my bet is he is a he.
Next are the BR. There are two lighter chest and darker chest.
Here they are side by side.
And the one on the left...(chicken #2)
And the one on the right? With a darker chest.(#3)
Now the two black ones. (#4)
Giving me pullet vibes....
And the suspect cockerel, second black one.(#5)
Now the other 4 "red" ones.(chicken #6 and #9 shown)(#6 first)
The three I expect are pullets are similar to this one. So to save time I will just post her, and the 4th that has alot more black, and I suspect to be another cockerel.
(#9)
Ok that's it for photos. Once again. Not looking for sex unless you feel like you want to guess, I'd love the opinion, mostly looking for what breeds you all think they are.
P.s. should I make a similar post for my 5 silkies for fun, I really feel like I know which are pullets and which are cockerels(even though everyone says you can't tell...) also because they are FREAKIN adorable. Let me know
