Hi all! I am new to chickens and after much research settled on purchasing partridge chanteclers as they are perfect for our cold Canadian winters. Imagine my surprise when the chicks started developing single combs. A quick call to the seller and oops! Yes we accidentally gave you Barnevelders. So I have 10 "barnevelders" and 1 who actually IS a chantecler. Now my issue is are they really Barnevelders as some have quite a bit of red colouring and also did I end up with 8 roosters? Barnevelders hens have combs and wattles so I am very unsure of what I actually have... 20170611_165059.jpg

Pattern is wrong for a barnevelder, I see lots of roosters and to me they look mixed but maybe they will color up correctly after a few more molts, but I am skeptical that they are purebred barnevelder.

Here's hoping...thank you for your opinion
