I’m from downtown Chicago, I’ve been wanting to grow orchids and raise chickens, now that I live in Florida, I enjoy both hobbies. I started out buying chicks from the hardware store but had very little experience and success raising them. I ended up buying mature hens online. I was glad to see some people raising chickens in the neighborhood. I bought Buff Orpingtons, Wyandotte’s, Americaunas and Rhode Island Reds but boy I had so much eggs I didn’t know what to do with them. I ended up selling them after a year. I kind of regret that, so soon after, I bought bantam chickens that my family and I now enjoy having! I became a frequent reader of the discussions in this site as I gain interest in different breed of bantams.

Normally I push goats (because they are adorable!), but for you, I suggest Coturnix quail! :wee:wee
