* I knew they were coming, of course. Got the letter last week. STILL a little disconcerting to be awakened by screaming chainsaws so early in the morning, eh?? WHY does annual tree pruning for hurricane season always seem to start SO VERY VIGOROUSLY in my backyard???? I KNOW I'm not the only one with trees!!!!!

Hah! I have a neighbor that doesn't know what a rake is. He uses a leafblower to get every last leaf and pineneedle out of his yard. All you hear is this tinny, whining noise for hours. It's when he shuts the stupid thing off that you notice it was even on in the first place.

*What's REALLY strange is that my dog usually goes nuts when there are trucks and people in the yard. This time there was not a peep out of her. They must have been really quiet rolling in here before cranking up the saws.
