I am compiling a bunch of my favorite treats and ideas for holiday entertaining to share with you all. I know that I am always and forever looking for a new fast and easy party idea. These are all tried and ture. I hope they help you out and that you enjoy them as much as I do! I will add more along so check back often.
Feel free to add your favorites so others can enjoy them as well.


ROASTED PEPPER DIP

1 c sour cream
1 c mayonaise
1 7 & 1/2 oz jar roasted red peppers, drained and fine chopped
1 can 4oz chopped green chilies, drained
1 tblsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp garlic powder

combine well and refridgerate overnight
serve with fresh veggies!


RANCH DIP

1 c sour cream
1/2 c ranch dressing
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
4 slices of crispy cooked bacon, crumbled
2 tblsp finely chopped green onion

Combine and refridgerate over night
serve with veggies or crackers either one


CUCUMBER-DILL DIP

1 c ranch dressing
1/2 c peeled, de-seeded and fine chopped cucumber
2 tblsp fine chopped green onion
1/2 tsp dill weed

combine and refridgerate
serve with veggies, pita bread wedges or breadsticks

CHEESE WREATH

2 pkgs cream cheese
8 oz shredded mild cheddar
1 tsp chopped bell pepper Red and Green both
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
dash of ground red pepper

beat cream cheese and cheddar with mixer on medium til well combined.
add reamaining ingredients and combine well.
refridgerate for several hours.
place a drinking glass about 3 inches in diameter in center of serving tray. Drop spoonfuls of mixture around glass allowing edges to touch. take a spatula and smooth into a nice ring presentation and sprinkle a tad of paprika and parsley on top for garnish. Remove glass and surround with crackers for a festive holiday plate.

Best Ever Oatmeal Cookies

3/4 c margerine
1 & 3/4 c plain flour
1 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnimon
2 c rolled oats
1/4 c raisins or dried cranberries

Cream margerine and half flour together
add sugars, egg, vanilla, soda and baking powder, blend well
add remaining flour and cinnamon, blend well
add oats and fruit and stir together well

drop by spoonful about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet
bake for about 7 minutes or so, until just lightly golden


FANTASY FUDGE

3/4 c margerine
3 c sugar
1 5oz canevaporated milk
12 oz bakers semi sweet chocolate chips
7 oz marshmellow creame
1 c chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tsp vanilla

lightly grease 13x9 inch pan with margerine
mix margerine, sugar and milk in heavy saucepan, bring to a full rolling boil on medium heat stirring constantly. Cook for 5 minutes being careful not to scorch. Remove from heat, stir in chips slowly til melted and then add remaining ingredients, mix well.
Pour into prepared pan and cool at room temperature. Cut into squares. Makes around 3 Lbs

DATE NUT BALLS

1 8oz pkg chopped dates
1 stick margerine
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup fine chopped pecans
2 c rice krispies
1 c powdered sugar

Melt margarine beat in sugar and dates. Bring to a boil for three minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla, nuts and rice krispies. Roll into small balls and roll in powdered sugar to coat.


SUGARED PEANUTS

2 cups raw peanuts
1 c sugar
1/2 c water
1/4 tsp salt

combine all, boil while stirring until water is evaporated and all nuts are covered. Spread nuts on cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour and 225 degrees
