Thanks everyone. All the animals are just so cute and sweet, I wanted to share them. Yea thats my dog Gnocchi (she was rescued from a vile situation too), she is in her backpack, otherwise she would have been smushed like a pankace by the animals  It was so funny when we walk up to the fence, Willy (the goat), was really interested in Gnoochi. Then the woman giving the tour told us to be carefull because goats hate dogs. But he was not showing any agression. He seemed more curious to what the little creature was

All the stories are on their website here animalplace.org. I got Howies (the cow) story there.
Howie - weighing in at about 2,000 pounds - is both our largest and arguably most charismatic resident. Howie’s mother died giving birth to him and he was dropped into a night box at an animal shelter when he was just hours old. Shelter workers wanted to raffle him off to folks who planned to raise him for slaughter. Animal Place intervened and demanded that the orphaned calf be given a chance to live his life out in peace at our sanctuary. Howie has been with us for over 7 years and spends his days grazing the hillsides, hanging out with the other animals, and getting into trouble whenever possible!
