I have a little chick that thinks hes so tuff. He struts around with his father. He tries to crow in the morning. I know its hard to tell when they're little, but does he look like a roo in the pic? I think he does.

Also, if a chick is fighting with another one does that mean they're roos? Or are they just playing like kids?

Question #3. Can a chick eat just bugs without feed?

Need a better pic, but you are describing a roo...see if you can post us some shots.

chicks do play fight, but I have yet to see two pullets do it.

Feed...no, cannot live on just bugs, need the balanced diet of chicken feed...free ranging is great, but they need the
complete nutrition of their recommended food.

Looks like a cockerel... Is he part Silkie? The comb looks purple.
