At 4 am we heard a huge crack, followed by a thunderous crash. Looked out the window and a huge limb from our Maple tree had fallen - right on the duck houses. By some amazing twist of fate, the limb did not fall completely, but one end got lodge just high enough so that the duck houses were not crushed. Not even a scratch....the hen house did take some what of a hit, but was strong enough to support the weight. Not even Peeps egg that she laid got broken. Some pretty frightened ducks. Not too mention the duck owner. I am so thankful this morning that the ducks, and our house, which is only maybe 10 feet from where it landed, are still in one piece!

The limb. Can't get the one in relation to the moved duck house to post. But this gives you an idea how lucky my ducks were! Lucky ducks, lucky ducks, lucky ducks!

Yikes! We had a horrible storm about 2 weeks ago here also took out a very large maple tree it litterally missed our duck shed by in inch we couldn't get them out for about 4 hours the next morning because the trees limbs were blocking the door we had to chop everything up first! We were amazed by it! Glad yours made it out fine too!

goodness me! so pleased everyone was ok. its my worst nightmare something happening to my 'troops'!

Think my husband was really relieved the ducks were okay too. Maybe it was the tearful "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god...." that started from the time I saw the limb down on the house until we got the house open to see they were okay. Ducks are not important to me I guess. He thinks I am pretty silly.
