Something attached to my hens' eye??

This is Nugget; a 2 year old easter egger layer. She recently developed a growth on her eye (it is attached to her eye) and I am not sure what it is. Does anyone know a) what it is and/or b) how to treat it? Anything is greatly appreciated as she is one of my best hens and I don't want to lose her.

What color is it, how big is it? Can you attach a picture?

I am not sure how to attach a picture, but is is about pea-sized and is a light yellow-ish color. It is large enough to the point where she cannot properly close her eye. I tried to remove it, but it is properly attached to her eye. I am not sure what to do.

It might be puss, I do not think chickens produce liquid puss, I think they make hard puss. Not that this makes me an expert by any means but I saw this on one of those vet shows on tv. Chickens eye was completely covered in hard yellow puss and the vet plucked it off and chicken was fine. Maybe you can google it, something might come up on YouTube or something. Good luck!
