something's wrong with her

    Was wondering if anyone had an idea about why she's acting like this. Went to check for eggs and she was fine then when I came home from work she was laying on her side and acting like her wing was hurt. Checked her out and there's nothing wrong.

    How old is she?? Is her head always back...I mean can she hold it up at all??

    she's only a year old and no her head isn't always back. She's the only chicken that would take off on the other side of the yard when you got near her and she kinda dose a swaying motion. I'll try to get a video or something

    She has opisthonotos, a form of wry neck or star gazing, but she also sounds like she may be showing signs of possible Mareks disease. Drooping wings, wing or leg weakness or paralysis, difficulty balancing, along with wry neck are some of the symptoms of Mareks. Don't take this as a diagnosis though, because it could be something else. There are other diseases that can cause neurological symptoms besides Mareks. I would start poultry vitamins right away including vitamin B1 (thiamine,) vitamins E, and give her some egg for selenium.
