Just wanted to say Hi. I'm new to this site. Still in the prepping stage of creating my coop and run.

Welcome to BYC. Are you getting chicks this spring? It always helps to make the coop and run larger than you think. You may want to hatch more chicks, and it helps to have a large hospital pen for either sick birds, breaking a broody hen, or for adding new birds gradually. Have a look at all of the good articles in the Learning Center and take a look at the Coops section for ideas on brooders and coops. Good luck.

    Welcome to BYC!
You are at that exciting jumping off point - and that is a great time to start filling your head with all sorts of poultry related knowledge here at BYC....such as the Learning Center and Coop section linked above. Have you chosen a coop design? What breed(s) are you planning to have?

Spent last weekend working on my soon-to-be coop. We had a shed that needed cleaning out, removed trash and a few rat carcasses. Also removed the unstable lean-to. It still needs a thorough cleaning and disinfecting.
