Sounds my pullets are making

    They are making goose like sounds and clucks. Is that a "sign" of some sort?

    They free range but return to coop nightly, have good size to them, they are all around 16 weeks.

    I read somewhere that the typical chicken can make over 30 distinct vocalizations. I have never tried to count all the different sounds my chickens make, but there's certainly quite a few, and they can mean everything from "I found something yummy," to "you better back off quick", and can sound like anything from musical chirping to a dinosaur-ish screech.

    At one point one of mine sounded like "hronk"

    all of my pullets did that too and thats natural! Thier voices are just geting used to clucking not cheeping so there is nothing wrong [​IMG]
