Southeast TX (Houston/Beaumont area) prefab or build?

my husband can build but doesn’t want to do anything complicated. We also want to control costs. If we buy prefab we will also be adding on a run. I don’t understand building plans so I have no way to id what’s easy or hard and what the estimated costs will be. I have bantams and standard chickens. Once we identify and rehome roosters we will have 12-14 chickens with 6 of those being standard chickens. Want to leave a little room to grow next year. Anyone up for giving advice?

In South East Texas rain and heat are the biggest problems to deal with. So lots of shade and plenty of open sides. I've never seen a prefab that is worth a dime... well except for the ones built by craftsmen.

What is an easy coop to build?

A hoop coop is fast and easy to build. Here is a pretty good example of a hoop coop but I would make a community roll out nest box.
