Hello fellow chicken enthusiasts! I am glad I found a place where I can come and get help with my small flock.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens, we bought them nearly three weeks ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have four chickens, all hens I hope.
(3) What breeds do you have? We have Rhode Island Reds (RIR). I understand they tend to be a "heartier" bird but are also more aggressive. I thought this would be a good place to start.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I was looking for a place to learn more about what needed to take place before actually making the commitment to raising chickens. This was one of the few sites that had an answer for every question I had
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, camping, snow and water skiing, rafting, golfing, roller hockey, reading, anything outdoors.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I moved to Southern Oregon a few years ago to slow down and simplify. We have two cats and a number of humming birds that stop by throughout the day. I was laid-off a while back but am in school full-time. I enjoy accounting as a profession. Now I have moved on to bigger and better joys... raising laying chickens and gardening
